Hello, it's Me! I'm BAAACK!!
It's been10 years since I started my initial blog, It's Only Me. I started it in 2004 right after my son was born as part writing project/part cheap therapy. An unexpected bonus was that I recorded stories of our life, in particular Nate's baby years, and I love going back and reading them.
As explained in the previous version of my blog, my daughter Sadie had health problems when she was born. Her birth and subsequent surgeries were stressful. Once we got past that, she ended up being one of those babies that wouldn't sleep unless she was touching me. That led to two years of insanity during which I was sleep deprived and lacked alone time in the evenings - see 'she wouldn't sleep unless she was touching me' - and, coupled with my innate laziness, that was the beginning of the end of It's Only Me 2004.
I've wanted to return to blogging for quite some time, but it's taken a bit for me to noodle out how to do it. It didn't feel quite right to reboot It's Only Me - I'm not the same meek, unsure person who wrote that one. I feel more confident - as a mom, as a family leader, as a friend, and about life in general and I want my blog to reflect that. Also, since it's been five years since my last post, it seems right to delineate the break. Plus, I like the new name better.
Nate will be turning 10 soon, and his sister is hot on his tail at 7. I am looking forward to sharing more of their stories and my own (as I face the big 4-0 myself this year).
Thanks for getting back on the horse with me - as always, it's sure to be a wild ride.
